Write for us

We welcome pitches that examine how memories, traditions, knowledge, objects or language travel between generations. We are interested in focused, original ideas that give readers context and a clear reason to care, without claiming that one experience represents everyone.

What makes a strong pitch

Start with the subject and the question the piece will answer. Tell us what the reader will understand by the end, why the angle is distinct, and what material you would use to support it. A good proposal has a clear scope, respects differences in experience and does not depend on unsupported generalisations.

Ideas we consider

We consider explainers, comparisons, historical context, thoughtful examinations of common assumptions and focused guides to a particular occasion or practice. We look for writing that is precise, readable and alive to the way a tradition or piece of knowledge may shift as people carry it forward.

Sending a proposal

Send your pitch through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title, a short outline and a brief description of your relevant experience. Please send a proposal rather than a finished article unless we have agreed otherwise.
